Frequently asked questions
Clear answers about what NotiRecall remembers, where it stays, and which Android limitations still apply.
NotiRecall questions and answers
Can NotiRecall recover notifications from before I installed it?
No. NotiRecall starts remembering eligible notifications only after you accept the in-app disclosure, enable Android Notification Access, and select a source. Earlier notifications cannot be recovered.
Can NotiRecall recover deleted WhatsApp or other messages?
NotiRecall may retain eligible message content only if that content appeared in an Android notification while capture was enabled for that source. It cannot read or recover arbitrary messages from WhatsApp, Gmail, or another app’s private database.
What happens after I dismiss a notification?
If NotiRecall already saved an eligible snapshot, dismissing the Android notification does not remove the saved copy. It remains until its retention period ends or you delete it.
Is my notification history uploaded?
No. The current audited build has no Internet permission, account, advertising, tracking, notification upload, cloud sync, export, or automatic support attachment. History and protected search stay on your device.
Why is some notification text missing?
Android and each app decide what a notification exposes. Muted, grouped, replaced, hidden, ongoing, or privacy-redacted notifications may be incomplete or absent. App-specific settings can also prevent a notification from reaching NotiRecall.
Which apps does NotiRecall work with?
NotiRecall begins with common notification sources and can discover other apps after they post a notification. You decide which sources to enable. A newly seen app is listed, but its notification content is not saved until you turn it on.
Does NotiRecall scan every app installed on my phone?
No. It does not request broad installed-app inventory access. It keeps minimum protected source metadata for apps that Android exposes through the notification flow.
Are banking, payment, and authentication notifications saved?
Sensitive sources are kept off by default and require fresh confirmation before enabling. Best-effort one-time-code filtering can miss codes or reject ordinary numeric messages, so NotiRecall should not be treated as an authenticator or security archive.
How long is history kept?
The current Free build lets you choose one, three, or seven days. Android may delay scheduled cleanup, and selecting a shorter period permanently removes older eligible history. You can also delete history manually at any time.
How does App Lock protect my history?
Saved history is encrypted locally. Optional App Lock additionally asks Android to confirm a supported biometric or secure device screen lock before NotiRecall displays protected content. NotiRecall does not receive or store biometric data.
Why can notification capture stop?
Android or your phone manufacturer may interrupt Notification Access after restarts, battery restrictions, security changes, or app updates. Capture Health shows the current access, capture, storage, and recovery checks.
Can I delete everything NotiRecall saved?
Yes. You can delete one notification, one source’s history, older history, or all saved history. Uninstalling the app removes its app-private data under Android’s normal removal behavior.
Do I need a NotiRecall account?
No account is required for the core experience.
What is NotiRecall Pro?
Pro is a planned optional one-time Google Play purchase for more remembered apps and longer local history. It is not included in the initial no-billing test. Final capabilities and regional pricing will be shown only after they are implemented and approved.
Is NotiRecall available on iPhone?
Not currently. NotiRecall is designed for Android.
